PROGRAMMES

SET provides a range of programmes for a range of client groups.

SET is fexible, innovative, forward thinking and progressive.

Current programmes include tuition, literacy and numeracy, alternative education, youth initiatives, adult initiatives, needs analysis, workplace training, outdoor recreation organisation, risk management and programme design and implementation and educational software development (Phew!!!)

A FEW EXAMPLES

Alternative Education

Currently SET operates an Alternative Education Centre at the Depot at Highland Park for students that meet the Ministry of Education criteria for A.E. In a nutshell, these are students that are either recognised as being long term truant or have been expelled and refused entry to other schools and are aged between 13 - 15.

The SET A.E. Programme includes :-

The programme is designed to motivate, interest and excite young people toward respecting themselves and others, removing barriers to learning, aiding positive self development and providing a positive future direction based on individual goals and the development of desire to learn.

YOUTH TRAINING

The SET GO! programme is a Tertiary Education Comission funded educational programme for students aged between 16 and 18 who have left school with low or no academic qualifications.

The programmes are designed to improve confidence and self esteem and provide a framework for students to continue to develop their potential and strive towards further training opportunities or employment.
